Established by Swedish Electrolux billionaire, Alex Wenner-Gren, in 1951 the yacht club became a ritzy magnet for celebrities and royalty in the 50s and 60s. Guarded by the 132-year-old lighthouse and three Cottsac schooner cannons, the harbour entrance and yacht club allow for 7ft drafts at MLW. The 28-slip marina provides 30, 50, & 100-amp power, water, ice, and rigged ballyhoo and squid bait -  available with prior notice. A separate fuel dock has high-speed pumps.
 

The yacht club offers 20 well-appointed rooms with a/c, rain showers, and scenic views from their own private terrace. Guests can relax in and around the swimming pool and, a step away, sample quick bites and day refreshments from the Conservatory. The Calabash Restaurant serves superb cuisine, and, at Hemingway's guests sip fine wines, beers and cocktails. For little essentials, Fresh Creek township is within walking distance.  A few yards away is ALYC's cozy, calm beach.
